NADA worked with Hannah Pettit a proud Boorooborongal woman from Dharug country to create this stunning culturally rich design ‘Burramattagal: Where the Eels Lie Down’.
Burramattagal Clan is situated within Darug Country (Parramatta), stretching along the head of the river. The word, Burramattagal, is said to derive from the Aboriginal word, ‘where the eels lie down’ to breed (within the Parramatta River).
Elements from Hannah’s artwork was digitised and used to create the wall mural piece in the main foyer of the Sydney Water offices in Parramatta and glazing throughout the building.
